\"\"<\/a>The wisdom dakini known as <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Niguma<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, illustrious Narotapa\u2019s sister, was a self-manifest yogini, a powerful lord bodhisattva on awakening\u2019s tenth stage, who received direct instruction from Conqueror Vajradhara.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She sang these vajra verses of self-liberating Mahamudra (Great Seal): <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Nature of mind,
\nWish-fulfilling jewel, to you I bow.
\nWishing to attain perfect enlightenment,
\nVisualize your body clearly as the deity
\nTo purify ordinary thoughts.
\nDevelop a noble intention to help others
\nAnd pure devotion to your spiritual master.
\nDon\u2019t dwell on your spiritual master or the deity.
\nDon\u2019t bring anything to mind,
\nBe it real or imagined.
\nRest uncontrived in the innate state.
\nYour own mind, uncontrived, is the body of ultimate enlightenment.
\nTo remain undistracted within this is meditation\u2019s essential point.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Realize the great, boundless, expansive state.
\nMyriad thoughts of anger and desire
\nPropel you within the seas of existence.
\nTake the sharp sword of the unborn state
\nAnd cut through them to their lack of intrinsic nature.
\nWhen you cut a tree\u2019s root,
\nIts branches won\u2019t grow.
\nOn a bright ocean,
\nBubbles emerge then dissolve back into the water.
\nLikewise, thoughts are nothing but the nature of reality:
\nDon\u2019t regard them as faults. Relax.
\nWhen you have no clinging to what appears, what arises,
\nIt frees itself within its own ground.
\nAppearances, sound, and phenomena are your own mind.
\nThere are no phenomena apart from mind.
\nMind is free from birth, cessation,
\nAnd formulation.
\nThose who know mind\u2019s nature
\nEnjoy the five senses\u2019 pleasures
\nBut do not stray from the nature of reality.
\nOn an island of gold,
\nYou search in vain for earth and stones.
\nIn the equanimity of the great absolute expanse,
\nThere is no acceptance or rejection,
\nNo states of meditation or postmeditation.
\nWhen you actualize that state,
\nIt is spontaneously present,
\nFulfilling beings\u2019 hopes
\nLike a wish-fulfilling jewel.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Persons of highest, middle and common levels of capability
\nShould learn this in stages suitable to their understanding.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
