Sua Santità il Dalai Lama si alzò e trascorse dei momenti ad osservare i monaci nel tempio, con un’espressione di gioia sul volto, e li salutò.

Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – In questo pomeriggio invernale terso e luminoso, Sua Santità il Dalai Lama ha raggiunto dalla sua residenza il Tsuglagkhang, il tempio tibetano principale, per unirsi a circa 3500 persone che osservavano Ganden Nga Chö, l’anniversario della scomparsa di Jé Tsongkhapa. Mentre attraversava il cortile del tempio e poi girava intorno al tempio, sorrise e salutò i membri della folla.

All’interno del tempio, Sua Santità si sedette di fronte alla statua del Buddha e a un grande dipinto thangka del Campo dei Meriti di Lama Chöpa. Alla sua destra sedevano Ling Rinpoché e il Lobpön del monastero di Namgyal. Alla sua sinistra c’erano l’abate del monastero di Namgyal e l’ex abate del monastero di Sera-mé. La cerimonia è iniziata con la recitazione della “Preghiera in tre continuum” seguita dall'”Offerta al Maestro spirituale”, la “Lama Chöpa”, intervallata da un’offerta del mandala https://www.sangye.it/altro/?p=6106, una revisione dei Voti Bodhisattva e Tantrici, versi di confessione e poi la preghiera di nove versi “Mig-tse-ma” in lode di Jé Tsongkhapa.

Poi è stata cantata la “Biografia segreta di Jé Tsongkhapa” da Jamyang Chöjé, la lode, “Dalla vetta della montagna orientale” e la breve preghiera Guru-Yoga del settimo Dalai Lama che invitava Jé Rinpoché nella stessa natura del tuo Lama.

È stata condotta un’offerta dello “tsog” seguita dal “Canto della Regina di Primavera”. Quindi, tornando all'”Offerta al Maestro spirituale”, c’è stata una revisione delle fasi del percorso. I versi di lode di Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara, Vajra-Bhairava e Kalachakra, tra cui il “Manjushrinamasangiti” o “Canto dei nomi di Manjushri” https://www.sangye.it/altro/?p=250, sono stati recitati a ritmo sostenuto. Sono stati seguiti da preghiere di aspirazione di Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara, Vajra-Bhairava e Kalachakra.

La recitazione dell'”Offerta al Maestro spirituale” https://www.fpmt.it/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/lama_chopa_lunga_vita_offerta_ta_SSDL_0523-IT.pdf è giunta al termine. Sono state cantate preghiere di dedica, tra cui la preghiera di buon auspicio del Vajra-Bhairava Tantra, la preghiera per la lunga vita di Sua Santità da parte dei suoi due tutori, le “Parole di verità” https://www.sangye.it/wordpress2/?p=715 e i versi di dedica della preghiera di Samantabhadra https://www.sangye.it/altro/?p=10032. Infine arrivò il momento della “Preghiera per la diffusione degli insegnamenti di Tsongkhapa” https://www.sangye.it/altro/?p=9120, il verso che afferma “hai chiarito il sentiero che unisce vacuità e compassione” che Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoché chiese a Sua Santità di comporre e l’appello a superare Dolgyal dagli scritti del Grande Quinto Dalai Lama. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – On a crisp, bright winter’s day this afternoon, His Holiness the Dalai Lama drove from his residence to the Tsuglagkhang, the Main Tibetan Temple, to join an estimated 3500 people observing Ganden Nga Chö, the Anniversary of Jé Tsongkhapa’s passing away. As he made his way through the temple yard and then around the temple, he smiled and waved to members of the crowd.

Inside the temple, His Holiness took his seat facing the statue of the Buddha and a large thangka painting of the Lama Chöpa merit field. To his right sat Ling Rinpoché and the Lobpön of Namgyal Monastery. To his left were the Abbot of Namgyal Monastery and the former Abbot of Sera-mé Monastery.

The ceremony began with a recitation of the ‘Prayer in Three Continuums’ followed by the ‘Offering to the Spiritual Master’, the ‘Lama Chöpa’, interspersed with a mandala offering, a review of the Bodhisattva and Tantric Vows, verses of confession and then the nine line ‘Mig-tse-ma’ prayer in praise of Jé Tsongkhapa.

Next was chanted the ‘Secret Biography of Jé Tsongkhapa’ by Jamyang Chöjé, the praise, ‘From the Peak of the Eastern Mountain’, and the Seventh Dalai Lama’s brief guru-yoga prayer inviting Jé Rinpoché in the same nature as your own Lama.

A ‘tsog’, feast offering was conducted followed by the ‘Song of the Spring Queen’. Then, returning to the ‘Offering to the Spiritual Master’ there was a review of the stages of the path.

Verses of praise from Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara, Vajra-Bhairava and Kalachakra—including the ‘Manjushrinamasangiti’, ‘Chanting the Names of Manjushri’, were recited at a swift pace. They were followed by aspirational prayers from Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara, Vajra-Bhairava and Kalachakra.

Recitation of the ‘Offering to the Spiritual Master’ came to an end. Dedication prayers, including the auspicious prayer from Vajra-Bhairava Tantra, the prayer for His Holiness’s long life by his two tutors, the ‘Words of Truth’ and the dedication verses from the Samantabhadra prayer were sung.

Finally came the ‘Prayer for the Spread of Tsongkhapa’s Teachings’, the verse stating ‘you elucidated the path combining emptiness and compassion’ that Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoché requested His Holiness to compose and the appeal to overcome Dolgyal from the writings of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama. Sua Santità il Dalai Lama: Ritengo che la cosa più importante non sia solo dare insegnamenti di Dharma, ma, come esseri umani dovremmo vivere in accordo con dignità ed onestà e buon cuore, con l’intenzione di aiutare gli altri.

Preghiera di lunga vita a Sua Santità il Dalai Lama da parte del popolo di Kinnaur al tempio tibetano principale di Dharamsala, HP, India.

Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – Questa mattina il Tsuglagkhang, il tempio principale tibetano, è stato decorato con ghirlande di calendule per la cerimonia di preghiera per la lunga vita di Sua Santità il Dalai Lama. La luce brillante del sole illuminava le alte cime delle montagne del Dauladar che si stagliavano contro un cielo azzurro e limpido.

Quando Sua Santità ha raggiunto la soglia della sua residenza, Gibong Rinpoché e Lochen Rinpoché, in rappresentanza del popolo del Kinnaur, si sono fatti avanti per accoglierlo. Ai margini del cortile del tempio, un uomo ed una donna Kinnauri hanno offerto un benvenuto tradizionale, offrendo a Sua Santità tsampa e cagliata.

La navata era fiancheggiata da donne Kinnaure, nei loro tradizionali abiti eleganti, scialli riccamente decorati e copricapi elaborati, che davano il benvenuto a Sua Santità con le loro canzoni tradizionali. Al che Sua Santità ha salutato il pubblico su entrambi i lati del suo percorso, sorridendo calorosamente. Nel frattempo, nel tempio è stato recitato un mantra che combinava quello di Arya Tara con il mantra del nome completo di Sua Santità.

Di fronte a Sua Santità dopo che si era assiso sul trono, e a presiedere la cerimonia odierna di lunga vita, c’era Gibong Rinpoché, la reincarnazione di Gyen Rigzin Tenpa, uno degli insegnanti di Sua Santità. Alla sinistra di Sua Santità sedeva Lochen Rinpoché ed alla sua destra la reincarnazione di Khunnu Lama Tenzin Gyaltsen, un altro dei suoi insegnanti. Ai Lama si sono unite 1800 persone provenienti dal Kinnaur nell’alto Himachal Pradesh.

Alla “Preghiera in tre parti” è seguita la “Preghiera dai sette rami”. Tè e riso dolce cerimoniale sono stati offerti e distribuiti tra la folla mentre sfilava nel tempio una processione di Kinnauri che recavano offerte come statue sacre e testi di scritture.

Gibong Rinpoché ha offerto a Sua Santità un mandala simboleggiante l’universo insieme a rappresentazioni del corpo, della parola e della mente d’illuminazione. Lochen Rinpoché ha offerto il Vaso di lunga vita, benedetto durante il rituale di Arya Tara, la Ruota che esaudisce i desideri, così come il nettare e le pillole della longevità, che sono stati seguiti, come partecipanti all’offerta, da Khunu Lama Jangchub Nyima e Ga Rinpoché. Sua Santità ha donato a ciascuno di loro una statua del Buddha.

È stata quindi recitata la preghiera per la lunga vita di Sua Santità composta dai suoi due Tutori: Ling Rinpoché e Trijang Rinpoche. La preghiera include un ritornello:

Che Tenzin Gyatso, protettore della Terra delle Nevi, viva per cento eoni.

Kinnauris Make Prayers for His Holiness’s Long Life

Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – This morning the Tsuglagkhang, the Main Tibetan Temple, was decorated with garlands of marigolds as part of a ceremony to pray for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s long life. Brilliant sunlight illuminated the mountain peaks that stood stark against a clear blue sky.

As His Holiness reached the gate to his residence Gibong Rinpoché and Lochen Rinpoché representing the people of Kinnaur stepped up to greet him. At the edge of the temple yard a Kinnauri man and women presented a traditional welcome, offering His Holiness tsampa and curd.

The aisle was lined by Kinnauri women in their finery, richly patterned shawls and elaborate headgear. They sang to His Holiness to greet him. He waved to members of the public gathered on either side to watch him pass, smiling warmly at them. Meanwhile, in the temple a mantra was recited that combined that of Arya Tara with His Holiness’s long name mantra.

Facing His Holiness after he had taken his seat, and presiding over today’s long-life ceremony, was Gibong Rinpoché, the reincarnation of Gyen Rigzin Tenpa, one of His Holiness’s teachers. To His Holiness’s left sat Lochen Rinpoché and to his right the reincarnation of Khunnu Lama Tenzin Gyaltsen another of his teachers.
