Preghier di Lunga Vita per Sua Santità il Dalai Lama e Spettacoli Culturali
Sua Santità il Dalai Lama: Da quando sono andato in esilio e ho raggiunto la libertà in India, ho condiviso la mia conoscenza, esperienza e pratica del Dharma con chiunque fosse interessato a conoscere il Buddhismo, soprattutto con coloro che erano interessati ad approfondire il funzionamento della nostra mente e delle nostre emozioni. C’è un numero crescente di persone desiderose di conoscere la tradizione tibetana. Sento di aver fatto del mio meglio per servirli.
20 settembre 2025. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – Le forti piogge che hanno colpito l’India settentrionale negli ultimi giorni questa mattina si sono placate ed il sole e’ tornato a splendere.
Più di mille persone provenienti dalla Corea e da dieci paesi del Sud-est asiatico si erano radunate nel cortile del tempio principale tibetano per pregare ed offrire spettacoli culturali in onore della lunga vita di Sua Santità il Dalai Lama.
Il cortile era addobbato con stoffe colorate, ghirlande di calendula e decorato con una varietà di orchidee. Il pavimento era ricoperto di moquette. Quando Sua Santità ha raggiunto il cancello della sua residenza, è stato accolto dai rappresentanti degli organizzatori dell’evento. La navata che conduceva al suo trono, nella veranda sottostante il tempio, era fiancheggiata da danzatori in costume da leone e da alcuni degli artisti che avrebbero danzato per lui più tardi. Come di consueto, Sua Santità era raggiante di gioia mentre salutava i presenti. Si è fermato a salutare i monaci appartenenti alla tradizione Pali che sedevano in fondo alla navata.
La Presidente del Centro Buddista Tibetano (Singapore), Sorella Winni, ha reso omaggio a Sua Santità, ai membri del Sangha monastico ed a tutti gli altri ospiti. Ha annunciato che i presenti avrebbero offerto preghiere affinché Sua Santità viva a lungo, in buona salute e continui a far girare la ruota del Dharma. Gli ha offerto un medaglione che rappresenta quest’Anno della Compassione in riconoscimento del bene che ha donato al mondo.
Preghiere per la lunga vita di Sua Santità e per la pace nel mondo sono state cantate in Pali da circa 30 monaci Theravada, guidati da Phramedivajrodom V. Vajiramedhi, Abate del Centro Internazionale di Meditazione Rai Cherntawan di Chiang Rai, Thailandia, uno dei co-organizzatori dell’evento. Nel frattempo, 14 rappresentanti degli organizzatori hanno offerto un mandala e rappresentazioni del corpo, della parola e della mente del Buddha.
Una dichiarazione congiunta a nome di tutti i partecipanti alla cerimonia è stata letta dal Venerabile Thich Nhat Tu, Vicepresidente del Consiglio Esecutivo del Sangha Buddista Vietnamita; Vice Capo del Comitato Centrale, Vietnam. Ha riconosciuto che Sua Santità è il leader buddista più rinomato e rispettato a livello mondiale, che incarna gli ideali di pace, responsabilità universale ed autodisciplina, nonché di armonia religiosa e sociale. Ha ricordato i premi da lui ricevuti, in particolare il Premio Nobel per la Pace, la Medaglia d’Oro del Congresso degli Stati Uniti ed il Premio Templeton.
La dichiarazione congiunta ha annunciato che Sua Santità ha dedicato tutta la sua vita al rafforzamento delle tradizioni buddiste, promuovendo al contempo il dialogo interreligioso. Long Life Prayers and Cultural Performances

September 20, 2025. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – The heavy rains that have lashed north India in recent days let up this morning and the sun shone. More than a thousand people from Korea and ten South-east Asian countries had gathered in the courtyard of the main Tibetan temple to make prayers and offer cultural performances for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s long life.
The courtyard was festooned with coloured cloth, hung with marigold garlands and decorated with an array of orchids. There was carpet on the floor. When His Holiness reached the gate to his residence he was greeted by representatives of the organizers of the event. The aisle to his throne in the veranda below the temple was lined by dancers costumed as lions and some of the artists who would dance for him later. As is his wont, His Holiness beamed with joy as he waved to those gathered to left and right. He stopped to salute monks belonging to the Pali tradition who sat at the head of the aisle.
The President of the Tibetan Buddhist Centre (Singapore), Sister Winni, paid her respects to His Holiness, the members of the monastic Sangha and all other guests. She announced that those gathered were offering prayers that His Holiness lives a long life, in good health, and continues to turn the wheel of Dharma. She offered him a medallion representing this Year of Compassion in recognition of the good he has given the world.
Prayers for the His Holiness’s long life and world peace were chanted in Pali by approximately 30 Theravada monks led by Phramedivajrodom V. Vajiramedhi, Abbot of Rai Cherntawan International Meditation Center, Chiang Rai, Thailand, one of the co-organisers of the event. Offerta di preghiere per la lunga vita di Sua Santità il Dalai Lama
Sua Santità il Dalai Lama: “Ci sono leader nel mondo che esercitano il loro potere e la loro autorità attraverso l’uso delle armi. Il Dalai Lama, tuttavia, guida le persone con fede e rispetto. Non con fucili o coltelli, cerco invece di essere di beneficio a quante più persone possibile.
10 settembre 2025. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP – Oggi sono state offerte preghiere per la lunga vita di Sua Santità il Dalai Lama al Tsuglagkhang, il Tempio Tibetano Principale di Dharamsala, dalla Lhokha Cultural & Welfare Association, dal Namgyal Institute di Ithaca e da giovani tibetani provenienti da tutto il mondo. Circa 4000 persone si sono radunate nel tempio e nel cortile.
Per i giovani tibetani che hanno preso parte alla cerimonia per offrire preghiere per la lunga vita di Sua Santità, l’evento ha preceduto un Festival della Gioventù Tibetana che si svolgerà nei prossimi tre giorni. Si concentrerà su impegno (damtshik), connessione (drelam) e celebrazione (gahzom), mentre i giovani tibetani riaffermano la loro fede e riverenza per Sua Santità.
Stamattina Sua Santità è arrivato alla soglia della sua residenza a bordo di un golf cart ed è stato accolto dai membri dei vari enti organizzatori, quindi, in segno di benvenuto, i monaci di Gongkar Chödé hanno suonato i grandi tamburi legati alla schiena. Dopo di loro, un gruppo di donne tibetane ha cantato in segno di saluto. Sua Santità ha mostrato il suo apprezzamento sorridendo ed ha salutato la folla.
All’ingresso del tempio, Sikyong Penpa Tsering si è fatto avanti per salutare Sua Santità e Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoché gli ha offerto una sciarpa di seta. Sua Santità ha quindi preso posto. In prima fila, di fronte a lui, a presiedere la cerimonia odierna, sedevano Avikrita Vajra Rinpoché del Sakya Phuntsok Phodrang e Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoché del monastero di Lhodrak Kharchu.
Le preghiere sono iniziate con la preghiera di Sette Strofe a Guru Rinpoché e un’invocazione alle Cinque Dakini. È seguita un’invocazione ai Detentori della Conoscenza, il cui ritornello era: “Il tempo è giunto, ti prego di concedere il conseguimento spirituale di una vita immortale”. È stato offerto lo Tsog, cui e’ seguita una lunga Offerta del Mandala con la richiesta al Lama di accettare le preghiere per la sua lunga vita.
Ha quindi iniziato a sfilare attraverso il tempio una processione con offerte, chiedendo a Sua Santità di accettare le loro richieste di lunga vita.
Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoché gli ha offerto rappresentazioni del corpo, della parola e della mente del Buddha. Mentre il Lama veniva visualizzato come incarnazione dei Buddha dei Tre Tempi, gli sono offerti un vaso di longevità, il nettare dell’immortalità, pillole di lunga vita, dolci rituali associati alla lunga vita, gli Otto Oggetti di Buon Auspicio, i Sette Emblemi Reali e le Otto Sostanze di Buon Auspicio. Offering Prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Long Life
His Holiness the Dalai Lama: “There are leaders in the world who exercise their power and authority through the use of weapons. The Dalai Lama, however, leads people with faith and reverence. not with guns or knives, I seek to benefit as many people as I can.
September 10, 2025. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP – Today, prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s long life were offered to him at the Tsuglagkhang, the Main Tibetan Temple in Dharamsala, by the Lhokha Cultural & Welfare Association, Namgyal Institute, Ithaca, and Young Tibetans from Across the World. An estimated 4000 people gathered in the temple and courtyard.
For young Tibetans taking part in the ceremony to offer prayers for His Holiness’s long life the event preceded a Tibetan Youth Festival that will take place over the next three days. It will focus on commitment (damtshik), connection (drelam) and celebration (gahzom) as young Tibetans reaffirm their faith and reverence for His Holiness.
This morning His Holiness arrived at the gate to his residence in a golfcart and was welcomed by members of the various organizing bodies. In the courtyard beyond the gate monks from Gongkar Chödé beat the large drums strapped to their backs in welcome. After them a group of Tibetan women sang in greeting. His Holiness showed his appreciation in his smiling face and waved to the crowd.
At the temple door Sikyong Penpa Tsering stepped forward to greet His Holiness and Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoché offered him a silk scarf. His Holiness took his seat. In the front row facing him, and presiding over today’s ceremony, sat Avikrita Vajra Rinpoché of the Sakya Phuntsok Phodrang and Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoché of Lhodrak Kharchu Monastery.
The prayers began including the seven-line prayer to Guru Rinpoché and an invocation of the five Dakinis. This was followed by an invocation of Knowledge Holders, the refrain of which was, “The time has come, please grant the spiritual accomplishment of an immortal life”. Tsog was offered. A long Mandala Offering was made with a request to the Lama to accept the prayers for his long life.
A procession of people bearing offerings began to file through the temple requesting His Holiness to accept their requests that he live long. Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoché offered him representations of the body, speech and mind of the Buddha. As the Lama was visualized as embodying the Buddhas of the three times he was offered a vase of longevity, the nectar of immortality, long-life pills, ritual cakes associated with long life, the eight auspicious objects, the seven royal emblems, and the eight auspicious substances.
