Mundgod, Karnataka, India, 29 December 2014 – The Drepung Lachi temple and courtyard were abuzz with anticipation this morning as His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived to give a Palden Lhamo permission. He said the main disciples were the monks of Ganden Jangtse and Drepung, who had made the request.

L’anno che sta per finire si chiude con la notizia di due nuove autoimmolazione con il fuoco in Tibet. Ieri, alle ore 14.00 (ora locale), è deceduta  a Meruma, Contea di Ngaba, nella omonima Prefettura Autonoma Tibetana (Amdo), Tsepey Kyi, una ragazza di vent’anni. E’ morta all’istante e il suo corpo carbonizzato è stato portato via dalla polizia. Le forze di sicurezza hanno isolato il luogo dell’immolazione e imposto rigide restrizioni alle comunicazioni. Difficile quindi, al momento, ricevere informazioni più dettagliate. Tsepey Kyi lascia entrambi i genitori e cinque tra fratelli e sorelle. A meno di ventiquattr’ore di distanza un monaco tibetano, alle 11.00 di oggi (ora locale), si è dato la morte con il fuoco di fronte alla stazione di polizia di Tawu, nel Tibet orientale. Si chiamava Kalsang Yeshi e aveva 37 anni. Apparteneva al monastero di Nytso, poco distante dal luogo dell’autoimmolazione. In passato, lasciato il suo villaggio d’origine in Tibet, aveva studiato presso il monastero di Ganden Jhangste in sud India. Un migliaio di tibetani si sono radunati di fronte alla stazione di polizia della Contea di Tawu chiedendo alle autorità di restituire il corpo del monaco alla famiglia. Prima di cadere a terra avvolto dalle fiamme e privo di vita, Kalsang ha invocato il ritorno del Dalai Lama in Tibet. Era molto stimato dalla popolazione locale per la sua dedizione alla preservazione della cultura e della religione tibetana. Insegnava la dottrina buddista alla popolazione di Tawu, soprattutto ai vecchi e ai bambini. La polizia, secondo un rituale ormai consumato, presidia la zona nel timore di manifestazioni. Le linee di comunicazione sono state interrotte. Con la morte di Tsepey e di Kalsang sale a 135 il numero dei tibetani che si sono immolati con il fuoco in Tibet. l China Daily del 30 luglio 2014 pubblica un articolo circa i finanziamenti stanziati dal governo di Pechino e del Jiangsu a favore di Lhasa. Si parla della crescita economica della regione autonoma degli ultimi 20anni e di quella futura con i 215 milioni di yuan investiti per le necessità primarie e indumenti per la popolazione, 1 miliardo di yuan in parchi di divertimento per bambini, centri culturali e sportivi , i 600 milioni del 2013 per la costruzione di 10 scuole nei pressi di Lhasa e i 413 milioni per l’invio di medici professionisti e ufficiali nel Paese delle Nevi. Il 13 agosto 2014 sempre sul China Daily il corrispondente di Pechino a Lhasa, Li Yang, scrive riguardo al forum internazionale tenutosi a Lhasa sul tema sullo sviluppo sostenibile in Tibet annunciando che la Cina dà il benvenuto ai suggerimenti costruttivi da parte della comunità internazionale. Losang Jamcan , presidente del governo autonomo regionale che afferma “ Il Tibet non copierà mai il modello di sviluppo che prima inquina e in seguito ripulisce” riceve una lettera di congratulazioni da parte di Yu Zhengsheng, vertice del Comitato Nazionale , in cui sostiene che il Tibet non ha altra scelta se non quella di perseguire uno sviluppo eco-sostenibile. Sangyal Khar si è autoimmolato, è il 134°

Un tibetano di 34 anni, Sangyal Khar, si è autoimmolato dandosi fuoco di fronte alla stazione di polizia di Amchok, una città della Contea di Sangchu, nella Prefettura Autonoma Tibetana di Kanlho (Provincia del Gansu). E’ morto sul luogo dell’immolazione.
