L’Iniziazione di Chakrasamvara nella tradizione di Krishnacharya

9 marzo 2023. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – Il sole era appena sorto questa mattina quando Sua Santità il Dalai Lama si è incamminato dalla sua residenza allo Tsuglagkhang. Come è sua abitudine, ha sorriso ed ovunque ha salutato i presenti. Qua e là si fermava a scambiare qualche parola con i bambini davanti alla folla.
Come ieri, una volta raggiunto il tempio, si è assiso dinnanzi al mandala, dando le spalle al pubblico, mentre eseguiva le procedure di autogenerazione necessarie per conferire l’iniziazione di Chakrasamvara. Mentre recitava i versi pertinenti, alzò lo sguardo verso la thangka in alto sul muro soprastante e salutò le varie divinità ivi raffigurate.

Una volta completati i preparativi, Sua Santità ha preso posto sul trono ed è stato cantato il “ Sutra del cuore” https://www.sangye.it/altro/?p=6098 .
“Il ‘Sutra del cuore’ https://www.sangye.it/altro/?p=3408 è molto significativo”, ha osservato, “ed è utile, quando lo recitiamo, riflettere attentamente su quale grande insegnamento ha dato il Buddha, spiegando la vacuità e delineando i percorsi che culminano nell’illuminazione”. The Chakrasamvara Empowerment in the Krishnacharya Tradition

March 9, 2023. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – The sun had barely risen this morning when His Holiness the Dalai Lama set out to walk from the gate of his residence to the Tsuglagkhang. As is his wont, he smiled and waved to members of the public in the yard to left and right. Here and there he stopped to exchange a few words with children at the front of the crowd.
On reaching the temple, as he did yesterday, he first sat on a chair facing the mandala with his back to the audience while he went through the self-generation procedures requisite to his giving the Chakrasamvara Empowerment. As he recited the relevant verses, he looked up at the thangka high on the wall above and saluted the various deities depicted there.
Meanwhile, the congregation recited the Praises to the Twenty-one Taras.
Once he had completed his preparations, His Holiness took his seat on the throne and the ‘Heart Sutra’ was chanted.
As he offered a ritual cake to those who might hinder the conduct of the empowerment, His Holiness pointed out, as he did yesterday, that really obstructions and interferences are not out there, but within us. Most obstructive are a strong grasping and clinging to the true or inherent existence of things, as well as extreme self-centredness and self-cherishing attitudes. Such obstructions reflect our negative emotions.

Procedure preliminari all’iniziazione di Chakrasamvara

8 marzo 2023. Per cominciare, Sua Santità si è seduto di fronte al mandala ed ha condotto silenziosamente le procedure preliminari al conferimento dell’Iniziazione di Chakrasamvara. Una volta completate queste pratiche, si è assiso sul trono.
Indicando un ragazzino seduto alla sua sinistra, Sua Santità ha confidato ai presenti: “Oggi abbiamo con noi la reincarnazione di Khalkha Jetsun Dhampa Rinpoché della Mongolia. I suoi predecessori avevano una stretta associazione con il lignaggio Krishnacharya di Chakrasamvara. Uno di loro fondò un monastero in Mongolia dedicato alla sua pratica. Quindi, la sua presenza qui oggi è di buon auspicio.
“In Tibet il tantra si diffuse ampiamente. Per quanto riguarda Chakrasamvara, le tradizioni Ghantapada e Luipa erano popolari, ma questo lignaggio Krishnacharya era piuttosto raro. L’ho ricevuto da Tagdrag Rinpoché e da tempo sento una stretta affinità con questa pratica. Oggi seguirò le procedure preliminari per l’iniziazione vera e propria che darò domani.
“Chakrasamvara è classificato come tantra madre. Appartiene ai tantra yoga più elevati. Mentre Guhyasamaja enfatizza il corpo illusorio, Chakrasamvara si concentra sulla chiara luce. Tuttavia, se fate del corpo illusorio la vostra pratica primaria, sorgerà anche la chiara luce.
“Come ho detto, sento una stretta affinità con la tradizione di Krishnacharya. Ho ricevuto l’iniziazione e ne ho intrapreso il ritiro richiesto. Questo può sembrare un po’ presuntuoso, ma sento anche di avere qualche connessione con il grande Mahasiddha Krishnacharya. Read the rest of this entry »
Preliminary Procedures for the Chakrasamvara Empowerment

March 8, 2023. To begin with His Holiness sat facing the mandala and silently conducted procedures preliminary to his giving the Chakrasamvara empowerment. Once these practices were complete, he took his seat on the throne.
Indicating a small boy sitting to his left His Holiness told the crowd, “We have the reincarnation of Khalkha Jetsun Dhampa Rinpoché of Mongolia with us today. His predecessors had a close association with the Krishnacharya lineage of Chakrasamvara. One of them established a monastery in Mongolia dedicated to its practice. So, his being here today is quite auspicious.
“In Tibet tantra spread widely. With regard to Chakrasamvara, the Ghantapada and Luipa traditions were popular, but this Krishnacharya lineage was quite rare. I received it from Tagdrag Rinpoché and have long felt a close affinity for the practice. Today, I’ll go through the preliminary procedures for the empowerment proper that I will give tomorrow.
“Chakrasamvara is classified as a mother tantra. It belongs to the highest yoga tantras. Whereas Guhyasamaja emphasizes the illusory body, Chakrasamvara focusses on the clear light. However, if you make the illusory body your primary practice, the clear light also arises.
“As I said, I feel a close affinity to the Krishnacharya tradition. I have received the empowerment and undertaken the requisite retreat. This may seem somewhat boastful, but I also feel I have some connection with the great Mahasiddha Krishnacharya. Read the rest of this entry »

7 marzo 2023. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – Questa mattina, nell’ultimo giorno del le Celebrazioni della Grande Preghiera, Sua Santità il Dalai Lama è gi u n to allo Tsuglagkhang per leggere un Racconto di Jataka, la storia di un a de lle precedenti vite del Buddha.
Sua Santità, sorrid endo a tutti e preceduto da un gruppo d i monaci che suonavano i corni, ha attraversa to il cortile del tempio, mentre svolazzava sopra la sua testa un brillante ombrello giallo. Ha quindi salut ato il Ganden Tri Rinpoché e pres o posto sul trono.
Il corpulento Maestro dei Canti di Drepung Gomang ha guidato una vivace recitazione del “ Sutra del cuore ” seguita da una “Preghiera ai Maestri del lignaggio”. Nel frattempo, sono stati serviti tè e riso dolce all e oltre 12.000 persone presenti .
Facendo a Sua Santità una richiesta formale di conferire l’insegnamento, il Ganden Tripa, seguito dal Sikyong, ha offerto la triplice rappresentazione del corpo, della parola e della mente dell’illuminazione. Successivamente, hanno reso omaggio gli abati riuniti e gli ex abati dei grandi monasteri Gelukpa.
Rivolgendosi a i presenti , Sua Santità ha osservato che a Lhasa era consuetudine riunirsi in questo giorno durante il Mönlam Chenmo, il Grande Festival della Preghiera, un evento che si celebra da più di 600 anni. Al momento è difficile organizzar lo nel Paese delle Nevi, ma i tibetani in esilio, ispirati dal coraggio del popolo tibetano, sono stati in grado di mantenere viva la tradizione. The Jataka Tale about Shakra, Lord of the Gods

March 7, 2023. Thekchen Chöling, Dharamsala, HP, India – This morning, on the final day of the Great Prayer Festival, His Holiness the Dalai Lama came to the Tsuglagkhang to read a Jataka Tale, a story of one of the Buddha’s previous lives.
As he walked through the temple yard, monks playing horns led the way, while a bright yellow umbrella fluttered over his head. Looking from right to left and smiling as he came, His Holiness engaged with as many people as he could. At the head of the yard, he greeted the Ganden Tri Rinpoché and took his seat on the throne.
The burly Drepung Gomang Chantmaster led a brisk recitation of the ‘Heart Sutra’ followed by a ‘Prayer to the Lineage Masters’. Meanwhile, tea and sweet rice were served to the packed crowd of more than 12,000.
Making a formal request to His Holiness to teach, the Ganden Tripa, followed by the Sikyong, offered the threefold representation of the body, speech and mind of enlightenment. Next, the assembled Abbots and former Abbots of the great Gelukpa monasteries paid their respects.
Addressing the congregation, His Holiness observed that it had been customary to gather on this day during the Mönlam Chenmo, the Great Prayer Festival, in Lhasa, an event that has been celebrated for more than 600 years. Presently it’s difficult to hold the festival in the Land of Snow, but Tibetans in exile, inspired by the courage of the people in Tibet, have been able to keep the tradition alive. A key part of the proceedings on this fifteenth of the month, the first full-moon day of the year, is to read one of the Jataka Tales, the stories of the previous lives of the Buddha.
