Sua Santità il Dalai Lama Visita il LGA Dharma Centre e ad Abi Pang Spituk
Ago 27th, 2022 by admin

25 agosto 2022.

August 25, 2022. Shewatsel, Leh, Ladakh, UT, India – When His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived at the Ladakh Gonpa Association’s Dharma Centre, a huge community prayer hall at Choglamsar, Mr. Thupstan Chhewang, President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association and Acharya Tenzin Wangtak, President of the All Ladakh Gonpa Association and other representatives were there to greet him.

During my recent travels across Ladakh and Zanskar,” he told them, “I was very touched by the deep reverence and affection shown to me by people from all sections of the community. It made me feel that I must live long to serve people with such a sense of devotion. Such a display of brotherhood and sisterhood among people belonging to different spiritual traditions is admirable.

People from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh share the same Tibetan Buddhist culture, a culture of peace and compassion. I’d like to express my deep appreciation of the way you are contributing to the preservation of this Buddhist culture. It is derived from the historic Nalanda University, where learning was based on reasoned investigation.

Since Ladakh is a border region, my travels will not go unnoticed across the frontier. A smiling Dalai Lama meeting people who show such deep faith and trust in him not only gives inspiration to Tibetans in Tibet, but for them is also a source of pride. Despite some rigid communist officials labelling me a reactionary, when they see a perpetually smiling Dalai Lama doing his best to serve humanity, they might doubt the harsh policies they have imposed on Tibetans. Sua Santità il Dalai Lama Inaugura un Centro di Apprendimento in Ladakh
Ago 24th, 2022 by admin

“The people of Ladakh and Zanskar have been so devout and welcoming whenever I visit. As a follower of the Buddha, whose daily practice includes cultivating the awakening mind of bodhichitta, I am committed to serving my fellow human beings whoever they are. Indeed, the essence of all religions is to be of help to others. Of course, providing financial and other material support is good, but it is even better to counsel others to be warm-hearted and develop peace of mind. Read the rest of this entry »

13 agosto 2022.

Read the rest of this entry »

His Holiness in turn greeted the members of the congregation before him, adults and schoolchildren among them.

“As a Buddhist monk,” he told them, “wherever I go, I encourage people to cultivate inter-religious harmony. All religious traditions counsel their followers to develop love and compassion and work for the benefit of others. Therefore, whenever I can, I visit different places of worship, just as I have come to this Eid Gah this morning.

“While it is sad to see conflict breaking out between followers of different religious traditions, it’s even more saddening to witness quarrelling among members of different denominations of the same faith, as we see between Sunni and Shia Muslims in Afghanistan.

Read the rest of this entry »

His Holiness the Dalai Lama gives a short teaching including the Bodhisattva Vows followed by a Long Life Prayer.

August 12, 2022. Padum, Zanskar, Ladakh, UT, India. In Zanskar this morning, before he walked from his residence to the teaching pavilion, His Holiness the Dalai Lama met representatives of the Kargil District Authorities.

After the recitation for three times the Refuge into the three Jewels, His Holiness remembered the correct motivation to listen to the teachings.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama Regarding the ceremony of the spirit of Enlightenment usually the disciples visualize the Guru in the form of buddha Sakyamuni. As a follower of Buddha, to be in daring, I’m someone whom all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have confidence and trust. I’m a follower of Buddha trough reason in teachings since my childhood. In the main temple in Lhasa in front of the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni I received the Upasaka vows and I also received the ordination novice and the fully ordination monk at the same place by Master Vajradhara Ling Rinpoche Dorje Chang and so. Even in my dreams I always identified myself as a monk, as someone following the teachings in the footsteps of Buddha in which I was thoroughly educated, as I memorized the different classic of texts as Abhisamayalamkara, Madhyamakāvatāra https://www.sangye.it/altro/?p=3263 and so forth, as well as I studied the Collected Topics and also the presentation of Mind and Awareness as well as logic and reasoning. And so, I studied the Dharma quite extensively. Even these days, whenever I have time, I read the classic Indian Philosophical texts. Read the rest of this entry »

Sua Santità il Dalai Lama al Great Summer Debate a Lingshed
Ago 11th, 2022 by admin

August 10, 2022. Lingshed, Leh District, Ladakh – This morning His Holiness the Dalai Lama flew by helicopter from Leh to Lingshed Village and drove straight to the ground beside the Monastery where an estimated 3000 people had gathered—Ladakhis and people from abroad. Dr Tashi Gyalson, Chief Executive Councillor and Chairman of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council offered His Holiness a mandala, and the organisers of the ten-day, Great Summer Debate (Yarchos Chenmos), offered silk scarves. His Holiness then gave a brief teaching on the ‘Eight Verses for Training the Mind’ by Kadampa Geshé Langri Thangpa.

I’m pleased to see members of the monastic community here,” he remarked, “who are interested not only in performing rituals, but have also engaged in the study of Buddhist philosophy. I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to this positive development. I see too that the school-children here are taking part in debates with each other. I’ve no doubt that cultivating such skills helps us sharpen our minds.

Soon after we arrived in India as refugees in 1959, I requested the support of the then Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, to establish separate schools for Tibetan refugee children. His generous response enabled us to preserve our culture, language and identity, for which we remain grateful. To begin with, these schools employed religious teachers, but later we felt it would be more relevant if they were to teach Buddhist philosophy.” Read the rest of this entry »

Ago 8th, 2022 by admin

His Holiness the Dalai Lama Addressing Tibetans in Ladakh
Ago 8th, 2022 by admin

August 7, 2022. Shewatsel, Leh, Ladakh, UT, India – More than 6500 members of the Tibetan community living in Ladakh, including schoolboys and schoolgirls, as well as nomads from the Changtang (the Northern Plans) of Ladakh, gathered today at the Tibetan Children’s Village School in Choglamsar on the outskirts of Leh. They made His Holiness the Dalai Lama welcome with a series of performances of singing and dancing. In His Holiness’s address to them he harked back to the circumstances that led him and tens of thousands of Tibetans to seek refuge in India.

One of the factors that triggered the Lhasa Uprising in March 1959 was the Chinese military authorities stationed in Lhasa having invited me to attend a show by Chinese performers who had recently arrived. I had agreed to go. However, as soon as the Tibetan public came to know the terms and conditions of the invitation laid down by the Chinese General in charge—that I should not be accompanied by any body-guards—they made it clear that they would not let the visit take place.

By this time, Tibetans had completely ceased to trust the Communist authorities and had lost hope that circumstances would improve. Consequently, more than 10,000 Tibetans surrounded the Norbulingka Palace to defend it. In addition, they pleaded with me not go to the Chinese military camp under any circumstances. Sua Santità il Dalai Lama: Iniziazione di Avalokiteshvara
Ago 4th, 2022 by admin

Read the rest of this entry »

Ago 2nd, 2022 by admin
