Ago 27th, 2018 by admin

Ama Tapontsang, notoriamente conosciuta come Ama Adhe.

Read the rest of this entry »

12 agosto 2018.

Read the rest of this entry »

August 12, 2018. Bengaluru, India – This morning, His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned to the ballroom of the hotel where he is staying to address a packed audience of more than 1000. He was again given a traditional welcome, lit a lamp and paid his respects before the sacred images set up at the back of the stage. He scanned the faces of members of the audience and waved to them before he sat down. In his introduction Veer Singh referred to His Holiness as an extraordinary human being. He observed that when he hears people praise his simplicity, his joy, his childlike innocence, he reminds himself that His Holiness manifests these qualities because he is a spiritual practitioner. “Good morning everybody, I hope you all got enough sleep so you won’t doze off and discourage me during my talk.” His Holiness teased the audience. “‘Ancient Wisdom in Modern India’ is one of my favourite subjects. Despite the material, technological and scientific developments we see around us, we are passing through an emotional crisis. I don’t think prayer alone is an effective way of stabilizing the community. Read the rest of this entry »

Read the rest of this entry »

11 agosto 2018. Read the rest of this entry »

August 11, 2018. Bengaluru, India – This morning His Holiness the Dalai Lama was invited by Vidyaloke, a group whose name alludes to the light of wisdom, dedicated to rekindling appreciation of ancient Indian spiritual traditions of which Buddhism is part, to talk to Young Professionals and Students. When he entered the hall he was accorded a traditional Indian welcome with flowers, incense, music and so forth. He then took part in lighting a lamp to inaugurate the occasion. Veer Singh offered a few words of greeting and thanks to Vidyaloke’s supporters. A hush fell upon the crowd and His Holiness began to speak: Brothers and sisters, firstly I want to make clear that I use these words because of the sense I have of the oneness of all 7 billion human beings alive today. If we are to create a more peaceful world, made up of peaceful individuals, we need a greater concern for others—altruism. That gives inner strength, self-confidence. When you don’t have much concern for others and you feel you’re the centre of the universe, you’ll be dogged by feelings of suspicion left and right. No matter how educated or wealthy you are, if you don’t have peace of mind, you won’t be happy. Read the rest of this entry »

10 agosto 2018.

Read the rest of this entry »

Dalai Lama in good health: Personal physician slams news report’s claims of prostate cancer
Ago 11th, 2018 by admin

This is fake news,” Dr Tseten Dorjee, the personal physician to the Dalai Lama, told The New Indian Express. “He is doing very well, and if that was not the case he would not have given discourses for 3 days in a row and taken this 10-day trip to Latvia and Lithuania.”

Beijing reports that he is terminally ill, His Holiness the Dalai Lama left on a 10-day lecture tour of the Baltic states Tuesday.

On Monday, an ‘exclusive’ report by a website citing unnamed Indian intelligence sources claimed that the Tibetan leader “is suffering from prostate cancer and has been undergoing treatment in the US for the last two years.

Asserting that “his ailment has advanced well into the last stages,” the report also says that both Indian and Chinese intelligence agencies were aware of this ‘for months.’

This is fake news,” Dr Tseten Dorjee, the personal physician to the Dalai Lama, told The New Indian Express. “He is doing very well, and if that was not the case he would not have given discourses for 3 days in a row and taken this 10-day trip to Latvia and Lithuania.”

A Visit to the Dalai Lama’s Birthplace
Ago 9th, 2018 by admin

Takster is a footnote in the long history of Tibet; it would be all but unremarkable if it were not the birthplace of the 14th Dalai Lama

A Visit to the Dalai Lama’s Birthplace

Takster tells a story of modern China: lingering poverty, resurgent Han nationalism, and persecuted minorities.

By Tim Robertson, August 07, 2018

On July 6, Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, celebrated his 83rd birthday in Ladakh, the Himalayan region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. On the other side of the world’s highest mountain range sits Lhasa, the Tibetan capital that he fled in 1959 during the Tibetan Uprising. The Dalai Lama has never been allowed to return. His has been a life lived in exile. But even Lhasa, home to the Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace, was a world away from the place where Tenzin Gyato was born.

Takster is a small village in the far northeast of the Tibetan plateau, in the region of Amdo (these days, it’s part of the Chinese province of Qinghai). In his biography, Freedom in Exile, the Dalai Lama writes of Takster: It was a small and poor settlement which stood on a hill overlooking a broad valley. Its pastures had not been settled or farmed for long, only grazed by nomads. Read the rest of this entry »

His Holiness the Dalai Lama Arrives in Goa

August 7, 2018. Bambolim, Goa, India – After coming down from Ladakh last Saturday, His Holiness the Dalai Lama spent two days in Delhi in the course of which several people came to see him. Among them were members of a Thai-Tibetan Exchange Program. “I am very happy that we are making a new beginning to build closer ties between the Thai and Tibetan traditions,” His Holiness told them. “In the 1960s we sent four monks to Bangkok and they learned the Thai language and so forth, but the connection lapsed. Buddhism teaches that we are responsible for our own actions. To begin with the Buddha was an ordinary being like us, but as a result of intense practice over a very long time he eventually became enlightened at Bodhgaya. He taught that we all have Buddha nature and emphasised not just prayer but training the mind. When the Buddha’s teachings were introduced to Tibet in the 8th century by Shantarakshita, he established the practice of Vinaya, the foundation of the Buddhadharma, by ordaining the first seven monks. To this day, we also maintain the practice of the Vinaya in common with other Buddhist traditions.” Read the rest of this entry »

One Step closer to Predicting Tibet’s Devastating Quakes
Ago 5th, 2018 by admin

By Alice Shen, South China Morning Post

The Scientists in the United States led by a Chinese geologist have made a discovery that could help explain why the Tibetan plateau is a centre for seismic activity and assist in predicting future tremors.

According to Song Xiaodong, who headed the study at the University of Illinois, the upper mantle layer of the Indian tectonic plate was torn into four pieces when it collided with the Eurasian Plate tens of millions of years ago.

The collision between the Indian and Asian tectonic plates produced some of the deadliest earthquakes in the world,” said Song in the study published on Tuesday in the American edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Song is also a researcher at Wuhan University in central China. Read the rest of this entry »
